Engaging, structured Cantonese and Traditional Chinese courses designed for children and teens of different ages, language backgrounds, and proficiency levels.

Cantonese Classroom specializes in Cantonese and Traditional Chinese education. Every course is developed by our professional team.
Our curriculum combines interactive, student-centred teaching with a structured approach to Chinese language learning, drawing on our team's teaching and curriculum development experience in Hong Kong and Canada.
We offer two courses for learners of different ages, language backgrounds, and proficiency levels:
One-to-one private lessons are also available, tailored to each learner’s specific needs, language background, and goals.
This course focuses on listening and speaking. It is suitable for complete beginners, students with limited exposure to Cantonese, and those looking to strengthen their everyday communication skills.
Starting with everyday life, step-by-step activities help students learn common vocabulary and sentence patterns, move from simple exchanges to fuller expression, and eventually use Cantonese naturally in different situations. While listening and speaking are the focus, the course also introduces character recognition and writing. Students can move into the literacy course as they progress.
Students progressively develop the following abilities:
This course builds reading and writing skills in Traditional Chinese step by step. It suits students with some Cantonese background and families who want to continue developing their children's Chinese. While reading and writing are the focus, listening and speaking remain part of the course.
The course has five stages, and students receive a placement assessment before enrolling.
Songs and movement activities make learning engaging and enjoyable. Students explore basic strokes, character components, and familiar everyday characters to develop character recognition and confidence in writing.
Through children's poems and rhymes, students learn basic Chinese characters, common vocabulary, and simple sentences, building a foundation in reading and writing.
Students read short texts, apply new vocabulary, and practise paragraph writing to strengthen reading comprehension and organize their ideas more effectively.
Students explore more challenging texts, analyze content and text structures, and develop their ability to write complete compositions, becoming increasingly independent readers and writers.
Students deepen their understanding of language and culture through literature, thematic discussions, and extended writing. They develop stronger analytical and communication skills while learning to form and express their own perspectives.
Students progressively develop the following abilities:
Our teaching team makes learning feel like a game: gear up, defeat monsters, complete missions, and earn rewards.
We keep extra-soft tissues on hand because our students often laugh until they cry.
Students follow a structured, in-house curriculum developed by Cantonese Classroom for learners in Canada. Its complete learning pathway accommodates different ages, language backgrounds, starting points, and learning needs.
Online classes have no more than four students, and children's in-person classes have no more than six. This moves beyond the one-to-twenty—or even larger—rote-learning model of traditional Chinese schools.
Through careful assessment and class placement, we group students with similar proficiency levels to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
Through conversations, stories, games, role-play, and real-life tasks, students learn to use Cantonese in meaningful contexts.
From the very first lesson, we encourage students to think independently, express themselves, and create, empowering them to take an active role in their own learning.
New students receive a free consultation so our team can understand their level, language background, and goals, and recommend a suitable class. They can also arrange a trial lesson to experience our teaching approach before deciding whether to enrol.
Join Cantonese Classroom community gatherings to use Cantonese in a relaxed, natural setting and strengthen your confidence and enjoyment through real interaction.
Students receive in-house learning notes to review lessons, complete homework, and track their progress.
