Really excellent and fun teaching! Mr. Wong's materials are (much more) relevant and fun especially compared to traditional Chinese schools. Like, dim sum, hot pot, tongue twisters. Mr. Wong is very engaging and my Canadian-born daughter is still enjoying despite losing a lot of her original Cantonese as a toddler. It is nice to have an online version too in case you're outside of North York.
My child has been taking Cantonese lessons here and absolutely loves them! The classes are interactive, practical, and focused on real life rather than rigid textbooks. The teachers are lively and the topics are so kid-friendly that my child looks forward to class every week. It’s a wonderfully natural approach to language learning!
Highly recommend Cantonese Classroom with Lou Si Chris! As an adult learner, returning to Cantonese after many years felt intimidating, but he made the entire experience enjoyable, approachable, and incredibly rewarding. He is patient, knowledgeable, encouraging, and fun! He has a real talent for explaining concepts in a way that builds confidence and makes learning feel achievable. Cantonese Classroom allowed me to connect with my past Cantonese roots which was truly meaningful. I've been taking classes with Cantonese Classroom for several months, and the experience has been great! The classes are practical, engaging, and well-designed to provide a reasonable level of challenge.
Chris' materials are engaging and relevant to Canadian living. He always gives plenty of time for kids to speak in class, and makes it easy for us to practice at home too. I just wish they have longer lessons!
Teacher is very accommodating and flexible with classes. Encourages any questions and goes at a great pace for learning, many different units and topics are prepared so, it makes continuous learning fun as well!

I have been studying Cantonese with Chris for a couple of months and the progress has been amazing. Chris really takes the time to help you learn and understand. It has been a great experience and would definitely recommend even if you have never spoken the language before.

A great and affordable way to learn Cantonese! I joined the virtual beginner class and thanks to Teacher Chris' lessons and encouragement, I can hold simple conversations in Cantonese. I enjoy the interactive style of the class and how we've focused on simply speaking Cantonese early on, rather than writing, grammar, and exact tones. Would highly recommend!

I'm thrilled to have finally found a Cantonese school in Toronto that offers fun and flexible classes. I thoroughly enjoyed my classes at the Cantonese Classroom. My teacher, Chris, was both engaging and supportive. He was extremely accommodating to my learning level, and I was able to find classes that suited my level and schedule. With his help, I was able to get the feedback I needed to finally learn to read Jyutping (the standardized romanization of Cantonese). This is jump-start to my progress in Cantonese. I also enjoyed the high level of interaction with the other students in the class. Highly recommend the school!

My son is not only speaking better but also learning to write Chinese better, which is amazing. My children have been learning Cantonese with Chris for almost a year now and I would highly recommend him. He is an excellent teacher. He is dedicated, enthusiastic, and patient. He does a very good job personalizing the curriculum and also includes very practical elements. I would also add that I am seeing results in their conversation and also reading and writing.

Chris and his teachers are well seasoned, experienced and engaging teachers. There are very few canto schools in the area that tailor to my kid's different levels and this school does it amazingly. The classes are engaging and my kids enjoy going.
Chris is a very responsible and patient teacher. His standard pronunciation and clear explanation made my study enjoyable. The class combine regular teaching and everyday life experiences in HongKong. I did learn a lot.
I have two teenage children who have been taking semi-private lessons for several months now, and I highly recommend Cantonese classroom. Regina’s lessons are practical for everyday conversation and she is very organized, prepared with interesting exercises, and personable, making her students comfortable to practice speaking.
I started taking class with Chris from 0, and in few months I'm already able to support a simple conversation with native speakers. A strong emphasis on conversational practice, which helps you quickly pick up the basics of the language and start applying it in everyday life. I highly recommend this class if you want to learn Cantonese
Chris is an enthusiastic teacher who is knowledgable on a systematic yuet ping system (like ping yin but for Cantonese) which makes it easier to grasp learning Cantonese. He makes his own lessons from scratch and shares a pdf for students to follow along and retain and finds many ways to make learning fun through videos, games and encouraging conversation. I am an adult student in a virtual class with a little Cantonese background and found myself improving with his classes.
I can wholeheartedly recommend any adult learners that have some background with Cantonese to learn Cantonese at Cantonese Classroom. It is the only that teaches adults well beyond the basics. I grew up in Toronto and speak Cantonese with my parents but, like many Canadian-born Chinese, I cannot read and my Cantonese is unsophisticated. I was frustrated that there is no school that teaches beyond the beginner level for Cantonese. Chris, the founder, personally created a curriculum that was initially personally tailored for me as the first advanced adult learner. Chris has expanded the class to a small number of other advanced adult learners and I very much enjoy being able to converse with my classmates about topics that are well beyond the ability of a beginner, such as world news. I've taken many language classes, for several languages, and I've found Cantonese Classroom to be the most engaging language school and I've made the most progressive under Chris's tutelage.
As somebody who has ancestral ties to Sze Yup regions of China, I've always wanted to speak the languages that my older relatives spoke. Chris far exceeded my expectations when he first started teaching the class I was in. Chris puts high focus into our knowledge in Cantonese and is very patient when it comes to me and my classmates learning development. Thanks Again to Wong 老師 and other teachers.

I am an adult learner taking lessons now with Chris for over 3 months and have nothing but praise. I have felt I have been able to make good progress and I can do simple introductions, talk about my hobbies, what I enjoy to eat, and make small talk about the weather. Chris, is an excellent teacher and understands the needs of his students. He puts a lot of care into making lessons interactive, playful, funny, and engaging. The lessons are a lot more interesting then what you would get from a university level language course. The teaching is personalized and you are paired with students of similar skill level. I highly recommend taking a course and learning a new language!
